Advanced Disposal Services Acquires Southland Sanitation

Advanced Disposal Services Inc. (ADS) has completed its acquisition of SSI Southland Holdings, the parent company of Southland Sanitation LLC and Site Services LLC. The acquisition is the first in South Carolina for Florida-headquartered ADS.

In a release announcing the acquisition, ADS says that the purchase will allow the company to expand its business into a seventh state. Other states where ADS operates are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee.

ADS, through Southland Sanitation, will continue to serve Southland Sanitation’s 14 residential municipal contracts servicing about 56,000 homes across three South Carolina counties. ADS also will acquire seven front-load routes servicing 1,675 commercial customers and four roll-off routes servicing 375 commercial customers.
“The acquisition allows Advanced Disposal to expand its footprint into a new geographic marketplace while strengthening our Augusta and Charlotte operations,” says Charlie Appleby, CEO of ADS. “This represents another milestone for our company and is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of Advanced Disposal employees.
The release adds that Jeff Nadeau has been promoted to general manager for the Columbia, S.C. hauling location. He previously served as municipal marketing and government affairs manager for ADS’s North and South Carolina market areas.
