The people living in Nye County (where Yucca Mountain is physically located) and the six surrounding counties are all in support of continuing the license application for Yucca Mountain. If the project passes muster through NRC’s review process, they are ready to welcome the repository to their neighborhoods.

So when you say “Local opposition in Nevada has effectively kept Yucca Mountain in limbo,” you are not being factual. If the people who would live next door to a nuclear repository don’t have a problem with it, where exactly IS the problem?

This woman is a real looney! Obviously she has a secret money printing organsaition, hidden from public view. Whatever happened to her party line about getting us out of debt ASAP? while all she is doing is proposing to spend spend spend!!!! She is offering all kinds of incentives to get the vote!

Whatever happened to her parties clear the debt ASAP…. all she is proposing to do is spend spend spend……. Aussies don’t want to or need to go down the same political nightmare path that the USA is traversing, so why try and imitate Obamma Mamma Julia?

Arghhhh she of all people should know – after all she advertises her hard working family background, that there are people in Australia who just cannot afford new cars, and struggle to keep what they have roadworthy and registered.

We are pensioners, we are single parents, we are family people just making ends meet from pay to pay…. her ‘bright’ (NOT) scheme is out of the reach of ordinary people. Politicians on the other hand can afford it!!!!

Get real Julia…. there is a Santa Claus, but it ain’t YOU! and there is no AGW !

It may be a bonanza for the small number of multi-national PV panel builders but it’s also the death knoll of the small UK renewable design and manufacturing businesses. I have fought hard for the bespoke hydro industry including the use of traditional waterwheels, but to no avail. It’s mass produced imports or nothing as far as this Government is concerned. This whole ‘accreditation’ scheme has been used as a stick to make the ‘small guys’ stand in line or get out. They have even demanded compliance with EU directives that contain exemptions for hydro power! This is ‘Red Tape’ gone mad. I thought after years in the business us pioneers would at least get a pat on the back, not a knife!

Thank you for your interest. I would just like to correct the first sentence in your story. The plastic does not produce microbes – instead, microbes from the wider environment become attached to plastic. These microbes could be able to break down potentially dangerous chemicals that have become associated with the plastic, so the microbes may actually “clean up” plastic instead of making it more dangerous. Finally, I studied the seabed environment instead of plastics that float.

Rush to Judgement!

It’s the FIRST well of a multi well campaign drilling for three companies in several areas.

We don’t even have all the results in.
It was press speculation by the Sunday Times that forced a hurried and incomplete RNS out of the company yesterday.

There will be another – completed one – very shortly.
Probably this week.

I think we need to wait for much more information before announcing a failed campaign -
or even a failed well.
